National Apprenticeship Week 2020 was a huge success, and we’re celebrating how apprenticeships open up career opportunities across a range of industries — helping to build a highly-skilled workforce and promote economic mobility.
Too many adults are missing out on apprenticeship opportunities because they may not have the requisite skills, supplies, or support to participate. Pre-apprenticeships are vital to addressing these access barriers because they equip people with the knowledge and skills they need to enter and succeed in apprenticeships.
Help expand opportunities for adult learners by entering the $750,000. Preliminary program designs are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on November 25. Learn more by replaying the challenge information session and reviewing answers to frequently asked questions. The challenge resources have been updated to include the RapidSkills Generator, a tool for identifying current skills needs by occupation and geographic region.
It’s not too late to submit a program design. The online submission form asks for a brief description of:
- Your vision for a pre-apprenticeship.
- The learners your program would serve.
- The team behind the program.
Entrants are also required to obtain confirmation from their state director or designee that their organization currently receives AELFA funding and has permission to participate in this challenge.
